Wait, isn't this just Claude Dispatch?
Dispatch is Anthropic's phone-to-desktop bridge. It works for chat tasks. It needs an app, a pairing setup, and a Pro or Max subscription. Remote Claude is different on four counts.
- No app to install. iMessage is the interface. Dispatch needs the Claude mobile app paired to Claude Desktop via QR code.
- Voice loop both ways. You speak, Claude speaks back through your AirPods. Dispatch is text task assignment only.
- No subscription tier required. $49 one-time, works with whatever Claude Code plan you already pay for. Dispatch is gated to Pro and Max.
- Drives Claude Code, not Claude chat. The actual dev environment that reads your files, edits them, and runs commands. Dispatch drives Claude Desktop chat tasks.

Questions
Do I need to be a developer?
You need to already be using Claude Code. Beyond that, the guide is copy-paste. No writing code. No Tailscale, Go, or tmux. Just Mac, iPhone, Claude Code.
Do I need AirPods?
No. Voice dictation works on iPhone's built-in mic + speaker. AirPods make it nicer but they're a bonus, not required.
What if my Mac goes to sleep?
